BYHALIA, Miss. (AP) - Swedish truck maker Volvo Group says it’s building a 1-million-square-foot parts distribution center in Byhalia (bye-HAY-yuh).

The facility will support the company’s Mack, Volvo and UD truck brands, as well as Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Penta.

The Commercial Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/1nBgAUs ) the operation in the Memphis suburb will employ about 250 people.

The Gothenburg, Sweden-based company says while the new facility will support primarily North American customers being part of the Memphis logistics hubs also puts it in position to export parts.

Construction is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of this year.

Volvo Group makes trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine and industrial engines. It employs about 110,000 people and has production facilities in 19 countries.

In 2013, Volvo Group’s sales totaled $41.5 billion.
