ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — Police are conducting a homicide investigation into the death of a 33-year-old Alexandria woman.

The Town Talk reports the victim has been identified as Pamela Carnahan.

Police say Rapides Parish school officials had become concerned Friday when Carnahan was not at the bus stop to pick up her child.

They contacted relatives who checked the victim’s apartment and located the body.

Police determined the death was a homicide, but the cause of death was not released.
