PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) - A Detroit-area man will spend 20 to 60 years in prison in the slaying of a 33-year-old woman at a suburban nightclub.

The Oakland Press reports (https://bit.ly/QGCOGf ) that 34-year-old Deangelo Eady of Southfield was sentenced Tuesday in Oakland County Circuit Court in Pontiac.

Eady had pleaded no-contest to second-degree murder in the March 2013 shooting that killed Nicole Riggs at the Myst Ultra Lounge in Southfield.

Police have said Riggs was struck in the head after shots were fired into the club. The shooting followed a confrontation between patrons and security guards at the club.

The newspaper reports that Riggs’ family has filed a lawsuit against the club.
