ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) - All students entering a central Pennsylvania high school were searched after a student’s father called police to report that his gun and ammunition were missing.

Police tell the Altoona Mirror (https://bit.ly/1nJ8Z3R ) that the 18-year-old student had moved out of his parent’s home last week, and returned to take some more items on Sunday when an argument broke out.

When the student’s father realized the gun was missing Monday morning, he reported it fearing the student may have taken it.

Altoona Area School District polices searched the student and the backpack and found nothing, then also found nothing as other students were searched.

The .22-caliber revolver has since been reported stolen by the student’s father.

School district spokeswoman Paula Foreman says the school wasn’t locked down, though the searches delayed classes about 10 minutes.
