ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (AP) - Four jurors have been chosen to serve in the murder trial of a man accused of killing eight people in 2008.

Nicholas Sheley already is serving two life terms in two slayings in Illinois. The Daily Gazette in Sterling reports (https://bit.ly/1luZcNU ) that four jurors were chosen Tuesday for Sheley’s next trial on charges he killed four others. Proceedings are to continue in Rock Island on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old Sterling man is charged in the beating deaths of 29-year-old Brock Branson; his fiancee, 20-year-old Kilynna Blake; her 2-year-old son, Dayan; and 25-year-old Kenneth Ulve. They were killed in the apartment in a Rock Falls they all shared.

Sheley has pleaded not guilty.

Sheley still faces trial in the deaths of an Arkansas couple found dead in Missouri.
