WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - A homeless man living in a tent along a northeastern Pennsylvania levee is under arrest on charges he robbed a woman at knifepoint.
Twenty-two-year-old Jarrett Anthony Bidding was arraigned Wednesday after police said he admitted attacking the woman at the levee in Kingston on Friday.
Bidding is charged with kidnapping, robbery, unlawful restraint and related counts. He said he has mental problems and hopes the woman can forgive him someday.
The woman told police an assailant grabbed her from behind, covered her mouth with a gloved hand and was dragging her into the woods and threatening to kill her. A passing bicyclist scared off the attacker.
The woman’s arm was cut with the knife during the struggle.
Bidding is jailed at the Luzerne County prison, unable to post $100,000 bail.
