MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin’s jobs agency has hired from within to lead its efforts working on economic development with businesses and communities across the state.

Tricia Braun was named Tuesday as the vice president of economic and community development for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.

She joined WEDC in November 2013 and had been working as its regional development and attraction director.

Prior to joining WEDC, Braun worked more than 15 years in three states on economic development.

Reed Hall, secretary and CEO of WEDC, says Braun emerged as the best candidate following a nationwide search. He says she has a “true understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing businesses in our state.”
