TEA, S.D. (AP) - The debate over whether to upgrade facilities in the Tea School District continues, despite voters’ rejection of three bond issue measures in less than a year.
Results of the latest election on Tuesday likely will be recounted. A $9.9 million measure to add 14 elementary school classrooms and build a 614-seat performing arts center failed by just two votes, and three people have said they will sign the necessary paperwork to force a recount.
School board members also say they will be discussing how to revise their building plans.
Tea residents in close votes rejected an $11 million bond measure last September and a $10.5 million proposal in December.
