MAITLAND, Fla. (AP) - A train from metro Orlando’s new commuter rail hit a stalled car, but no serious injuries were reported.

Officials say none of the passengers on the SunRail train were injured in the Monday afternoon crash.

Maitland police officials say the car’s driver was able to get out of her vehicle before it was hit by the train. She had minor injuries from flying debris.

Florida Department of Transportation spokesman Steve Olson says the systems operations were delayed for only a short time and the trains were running on time during the afternoon commuter time.

SunRail trains debuted at the beginning of the month.

Monday was the first day that riders had to pay fare to use the trains.
