IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) - A southeast Idaho man has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years of probation for embezzling $112,000.

The Post Register reports that 48-year-old Lynn “Todd” Woods of Pingree received the sentence Monday in 7th District Court.

Woods avoided a 5-year prison sentence in a plea deal with the state by paying back the money before his sentencing date.

He pleaded guilty to grand theft, and a charge of computer fraud was dismissed.

Woods stole the money from his employer, trucking company Doug Andrus Distributing.

Woods’ job involved arranging transportation for loads.

Authorities say he created 35 fictitious loads and issued 125 false checks he cashed from January 2012 to January 2013.

He was fired in May 2013.
