PORUM, Okla. (AP) - Muskogee County authorities have asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to help investigate the shooting death of a man near Porum.

Authorities say 24-year-old Jesse Lee Taylor died at a Tulsa hospital where he was taken after being shot Sunday outside the home of James Hines.

Sheriff’s investigator Bert Poole told the Muskogee Phoenix (https://bit.ly/1mS94Tc ) that Hines told investigators he found Taylor inside Hines’ truck with a pistol he had taken from another vehicle on the property. Poole says Taylor pointed the gun at Hines and demanded the keys to the truck.

Hines said he went inside the home and got the keys and a shotgun - then went back outside and the two opened fire.

Hines was not wounded.
