ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - Police in the northeastern Vermont town of St. Johnsbury say someone tried to burn down the Republican Block Apartment Building last month and investigators are focusing on a suspect.
When firefighters and emergency crews arrived at the Republican Block just before 11:30 p.m. on April 6 they determined the building’s sprinkler system had extinguished fires set in the front and back stairwells of the third floor.
St. Johnsbury Police Chief Clem Houde tells the Caledonian Record (https://bit.ly/1oceoAC0) the investigation is ongoing and they’ve been able to narrow it down to one suspect.
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call St. Johnsbury police.
