DEER PARK, Wash. (AP) - A train hit a pickup truck parked on the tracks Monday night at Deer Park.

No one was inside. The driver told Spokane County sheriff’s deputies he got out to pick berries.

KHQ reports (https://nbcnews.to/1texet5) the train was able to slow but was still going about 10 mph when it hit and totaled the truck.

The driver was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
