PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (AP) - Philadelphia police have identified a body found along a gravel road near Northside Park Tuesday night as 22-year-old Marquai Kirkland.
Police Chief Grant Myers says a driver discovered the body in a secluded area on the edge of town.
Myers says investigators don’t believe the man had been dead for more than a few hours when they found him. The case is being investigated as a homicide.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the state Crime Lab are assisting.
Police are waiting on an autopsy report to learn more about Kirkland’s exact cause of death.
