SILVER CREEK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 64-year-old man is dead and his adult son was injured after they were shocked by power lines while trying to install a metal TV tower in southwestern Michigan.

The Cass County sheriff’s department says Timothy Curtis, his 31-year-old son Jonathon and a 13-year-old were in a backyard of a home Thursday when Timothy and Jonathon Curtis were shocked and knocked unconscious after the tower touched the lines.

The department says Jonathon Curtis regained consciousness and started CPR on his father, but Timothy Curtis was pronounced dead at the scene. Jonathon Curtis was taken to a hospital, where he was in stable condition.

The 13-year-old, who called 911 after the accident, wasn’t injured. The home is in Silver Creek Township, about 70 miles southwest of Grand Rapids.
