GOSHEN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a Florida businessman is being held in an upstate New York jail after being charged with failing to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in child and spousal support.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown (https://bit.ly/1nyM5eu ) says 51-year-old Kurtiss Tomasovich of Ocala, Florida was charged Thursday in Orange County Family Court with failing to pay more than $450,000 in child and spousal support to his ex-wife and children, who live in the town of Tuxedo.

He’s charged in a separate federal case in Westchester County with failing to pay nearly $160,000 in child support.

Earlier this month, federal prosecutors said Tomasovich and his current wife bought and developed property in Florida while he skipped the payments.

Tomasovich is being held in the Orange County Jail on $25,000 bail. It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer.
