BURNS, N.Y. (AP) - State police say they’re investigating the death of a 24-year-old man who was hit by a train in a rural western New York town.

Troopers say the accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the town of Burns, located in northeastern Allegany County 50 miles south of Rochester.

Police have identified the victim as Aaron Tucker of Swain, near the accident scene.

Tucker was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner. His body was sent to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office in Rochester for an autopsy.

No other details have been released.

The investigation is continuing.
