ENFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Enfield police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found inside a home by officers responding to a report of a disturbed person.

Authorities were called to Magnolia Drive at about 9 p.m. Thursday and had a brief standoff with a man inside the home before he came outside without incident. Officers went inside the house at about 10:30 p.m. and found the woman’s body.

Police say they’re treating the death as suspicious and are questioning the man. No charges have been announced.

The names of the man and woman haven’t been released. Police believe they were married.

State police are helping Enfield authorities with the investigation.
