GREECE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a former Rochester police officer injured on the job as a rookie 13 years ago has died in a two-car collision while being rushed to a hospital.

Police in the suburban town of Greece tell local media that 43-year-old Felicia Gilchrist had a medical emergency late Tuesday night and was being driven to the hospital by her father when his car collided with another at an intersection.

She was later pronounced dead at Unity Hospital in Greece.

Police say her father and the other driver suffered minor injuries. Officials say it’s not known yet if the crash contributed to her death.

Gilchrist suffered two broken legs in an on-duty crash in April 2001, three months after completing training at the police academy. She later returned to duty.
