WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Police are identifying a 29-year-old man who was fatally shot in Wilmington.

Police identified the man Wednesday as 28-year-old Alphonso Boyd of New Castle. Boyd died after being shot in the back Tuesday.

Police say they responded to the 1100 block of Conrad Street at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they found Boyd with gunshot wounds to his back. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not said anything about why Boyd may have been shot.
