LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas man who says he slept several hours while babysitting his daughter has been convicted of child endangerment in her death.

Jurors in Clark County District Court deliberated less than three hours before finding Francisco Vidal guilty Wednesday. He faces more than 20 years in prison.

Vidal told police he last saw 2-year-old Khloe Ann Vidal the morning of Oct. 17 and that he napped much of the day because he was repairing cars all night.

The toddler later was found in a pool several houses down and pronounced dead at the hospital. The front door had been unlocked.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal (https://bit.ly/1hCukHx ), Francisco Vidal had argued that his actions were not willful.

Sentencing is set for July 31.
