IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - An Iowa City woman faces a public intoxication charge after she allegedly recorded a blood alcohol content that was more than five times the legal limit to drive.
Police responded to a report Tuesday afternoon about 30-year-old Patricia Hunley refusing to leave a Gasby’s convenience store. She is accused of being intoxicated and threatening a store clerk.
Police say they found Hunley leaning against a car outside the store. She had urinated on herself. A complaint also says she had slurred speech and poor balance.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (https://icp-c.com/1o1udcu ) Hunley recorded a blood alcohol content of .439. She was later charged with a simple misdemeanor of public intoxication.
Hunley remains at the Johnson County Jail. Court records do not list an attorney.
