LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Center for People in Need is hosting an annual Mother’s Day event that lets children pick free gifts for their moms.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the center in Lincoln. Volunteers will be on hand to help children of low-income families choose and wrap their gifts and make Mother’s Day cards. Children ages 2 to 18 years old are eligible to participate.

Beatty Brasch, the center’s executive director, says the Mother’s and Father’s Day events offer children a chance to give the parents something to thank them for their sacrifices throughout the year.
