GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - Authorities are looking for an inmate who escaped from a county detention center.
46-year-old Vincente Castaneda escaped from the Etowah County Detention Center on Saturday morning. Natalie Barton with the Etowah County Sheriff’s Department says in a statement that Castaneda is a worker in the facility’s kitchen and left from a nearby gate. He was in jail on charges of selling counterfeit items.
Deputies found Castaneda’s jail-issued pants and shirt shortly after the escape around 4:30 a.m. His last known address is in Collinsville, Ala.
