ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Police in Anne Arundel County say a 4-year-old boy is dead after drowning in a creek during a birthday party.

Police say the boy was attending a birthday party Saturday in the 1100 block of Marley Creek Drive in Glen Burnie when he got into a backyard that was secured by gates. Adults noticed the boy was missing after a few minutes and found him floating in a creek.

Police were called and guests got the boy out of the water and tried performing CPR. When police arrived, the boy was taken to the hospital, but he died.

Police identified the boy as Jaden Dixon of Glen Burnie. Police believe the boy’s death was an accident.
