SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Caddo Parish residents have a new way to get direct information from law enforcement officials thanks to an app created by the Sheriff’s Office.

The Times reports (https://bit.ly/1n2TdTt ) the app is available for free on Apple and Android phones and tablets.

The Sheriff’s Office says its functions include a way to search for inmates and outstanding warrants, submit tips using photos or text and find out whether sex offenders live in a certain area.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick says users also have access to urgent information, such as weather alerts or traffic problems.
