JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) - East Tennessee State women’s basketball coach Brittney Ezell has been named an assistant coach for the Bahamas women’s national team.

In a university release Monday announcing her selection, Ezell said “it will be a great opportunity to learn and grown as a coach through international competition.”

The Bahamas staff is headed by Jacksonville University women’s coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin.

Ezell went 9-21 in her first season at East Tennessee State after posting a 41-52 record in three seasons at Belmont.

Trials for prospective players will begin May 16 in the Bahamas to help complete the team. Once a full team is announced in June, it will start training for this summer’s Caribbean Basketball Confederation championships.
