CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) - Suffolk County police have arrested a 29-year-old man and charged him with drunken driving after a crash killed an 84-year-old Long Island woman.

Police say Charles Koukalenios was driving in Central Islip around 3:30 p.m. Sunday when his car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a vehicle driven by Mary Rogalle of Central Islip. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Koukalenios, of East Islip, has been treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He will be arraigned in district court on charges of driving while intoxicated. No date has been set.
