NEW YORK (AP) - Two sporting goods outlets have offered to replace the uniforms and gears that were stolen from the NYPD baseball team in Texas.

New York’s Finest Baseball Club got the offer on Sunday from Rawlings and Modell’s Sporting Goods.

The team’s manager, Jose Vasquez, tells the New York Post (https://bit.ly/1iclBzd ) that the offer “lessens the blow a little bit.”

The team was robbed of $15,000 in gloves, bats and uniforms when its van was robbed in Dallas on Friday, just before a championship game.

Rawlings offered $800 in bats, helmets and balls.

Modell’s says it will work with the team to see what it can do to help.

The team is scheduled to start its regular season next week. It will include a tournament in San Diego.
