WINTER PARK, Fla. (AP) - Rollins College has awarded a degree to a woman who police say was slain by her husband.

Orlando’s WFTV (https://bit.ly/1up4Be8 ) reports Yessenia Suarez had been working toward a degree in psychology when she died last October. Her husband Luis Toledo is accused of killing his wife and her two young children.

On Sunday, Rollins College awarded her family with Suarez’s Bachelor of Arts degree. Her mother accepted the honorary degree.

Suarez’s professors wore a pin with her picture on it during the ceremony. She had a little more than a semester left in school when she was killed. The bodies of Suarez and her children have not been found.

Toledo has a pretrial hearing set for next week and his trial is scheduled for July.
