FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas senior Grace Heymsfield has been named the Southeastern Conference Runner of the Week following a record-setting performance at the Payton Jordan Invitational.

Heymsfield set the school record in the 3,000 steeplechase on Sunday with a time of 9:53.65 - nearly four seconds better than her previous record. It was her first steeplechase event of the season and only her third outdoor meet.

Heymsfield, an Elkins native, originally set the school record with a time of 9:57.18 at last year’s NCAA outdoor championships. She’s the only Razorback to break the 10-minute mark in the steeplechase.

The No. 8 Razorbacks are off this weekend while preparing for the SEC championships at Kentucky from May 15-18.
