SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - A 39-year-old woman is scheduled to be arraigned on charges stemming from a fatal hit-and-run accident near Syracuse’s Destiny USA shopping mall last December.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (https://bit.ly/1o1MIk2 ) that Alicia Alampi of the town of Clay was indicted in late April on charges that include vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of a fatal accident and drunken driving.

Syracuse police say her vehicle hit Robert Bevard of Liverpool as he walked near the entrance to Destiny USA on the night of Dec. 13. Officials say her license plate fell off at the scene, and police later arrested Alampi at her home.

Alampi told police she thought she had hit an object that looked like a tire.

She’s scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Onondaga County Court. It couldn’t be determined if she has a lawyer.
