BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (AP) - Former Murray State coach and administrator Margaret Simmons and former Tennessee Tech President Dr. Robert “Bob” Bell have been voted into the Ohio Valley Conference Hall of Fame.

The league announced the elections Tuesday. They will be inducted May 30 at a ceremony in Nashville.

Simmons is the sixth woman elected to the OVC Hall of Fame. She was the first head coach of Murray State’s women’s track and field team in 1968 and later started Murray’s women’s cross-country team. She won eight OVC titles in 23 years as head coach.

Bell was president of Tennessee Tech from 2000 until he retired in 2012, capping 36 years at the university. He helped the athletics department add a new center and oversaw the hiring of current athletic director Mark Wilson.
