HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - More than $13,000 has been raised for a Huntington region food bank program.

A check presentation ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday at Marshall University in Huntington.

The 11th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser for the Facing Hunger Food Bank raised the equivalent of nearly 100,000 meals.

The fundraiser was conducted by the B’Nai Sholom synagogue and Christian Associates of Huntington and Marshall ceramics students who helped make bowls for the event.

The nonprofit Facing Hunger Food Bank serves about 113,000 people in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio.
