PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A woman has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the death of her 4-year-old daughter and her long-term boyfriend was ordered held for trial in the case.

Twenty-five-year-old Josephita Brown of Philadelphia pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiracy, involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment in the death of her daughter Seanita on July 16.

Brown blamed her daughter’s injuries on her boyfriend Edward Golphin, saying he took out his anger on the little girl when he was angry.

Golphin’s attorney said Seanita’s injuries were inflicted by her mother.

A medical examiner testified that Seanita bled to death internally after a blow to her abdomen nearly bisected her liver. She also had multiple bruises and bite marks on her body, as well as new and old broken ribs and bones.
