BAY SHORE, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island man already serving 25 years to life for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl was sentenced to the same term for similar crimes against another minor.

Juan Pablo Zelaya was sentenced Monday in Suffolk County Court. He was convicted in March of predatory sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in 2012.

Prosecutors say the 30-year-old defendant was given a consecutive sentence to be served after the 25 years to life he got in the earlier 2012 case.

They say he lured the girls into his home by telling them he wanted to pray with them.

According to Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/1fP4NQ3 ), Zelaya’s attorney said he plans to appeal.

Prosecutors say Zelaya will be deported to his native El Salvador if he ever gets out of prison.
