NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a 24-year-old man has been shot to death over a parking spot in Queens.

Police say Darrell Lynch argued with another man over the spot on 113th Avenue Monday Night. As Lynch, who was with his mother, was walking back to his car, police say the other man shot him in the leg.

Police say Lynch pulled out his own handgun, but dropped it. That’s when police say his mother picked it up and started shooting at the suspect. She did not hit anybody and the other man fled.

Police say Lynch tried to drive away but lost consciousness and crashed into two parked cars. He was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead.

The shooter is still at large. It wasn’t clear if the mother faces charges.
