MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A Martinsburg woman faces up to 60 days in jail after pleading guilty to giving police false information about a wreck involving a former deputy.

Media outlets report that 27-year-old Mindy D. Selph entered her plea Monday in Berkeley County Circuit Court. Sentencing is set for June 30.

Prosecutors say Selph was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Patrick D. Ware of Hedgesville that collided with another vehicle on May 1, 2013. Ware and Selph told a state police trooper that Selph was driving.

Ware pleaded guilty in April to driving under the influence causing bodily injury and providing false information to police. His sentencing is set for June 16.

Ware was off-duty when the accident occurred. He resigned from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department after he was indicted.
