ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) - The ski area at Mount Ashland has eliminated its general manager’s job as part of a reorganization after a winter without snow strained its finances.

The Daily Tidings reports (https://bit.ly/1uGIWOP ) the elimination of the job held by Kim Clark since 2007 is the first step in a yearlong reorganization.

Development director Rick Saul will serve as interim executive director while a job search is conducted. The board hasn’t decided whether that job will be seasonal or full time.

The ski area association says it will continue to operate concessions at Howard Prairie Resort for Jackson County.

The ski area was not able to open for the first time in its history. It has taken out a “lifeline loan” of $750,000 from the Small Business Administration to cover revenue shortfalls.
