STRATHAM, N.H. (AP) - The police chief in Stratham, New Hampshire, says the loaded gun brought to a middle school by a student didn’t come from the boy’s parents or from his home.

Police are still investigating what happened last week at Stratham Cooperative Middle School. Police Chief John Scippa said any decision on whether to pursue any charges would be made by Friday.

Police said the student made an immature and dangerous decision to bring the 9mm handgun to school to show to a friend, but was not a threat.

No one was hurt. The school was under lockdown for about 45 minutes. Police confiscated the gun.
