RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police say they suspect an apartment explosion that left one woman injured was caused by making hash oil.

Officers tell the Reno Gazette-Journal (https://on.rgj.com/1kTILaW ) that Thursday’s explosion on Harvard Way would be the fifth such incident in the region in the last month.

One woman in the apartment received second and third-degree burns to her arms and face and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police say a case of butane bottles was found in a bedroom.

The regional bomb squad was called given the instability of the butane and oil used to make the concentrated form of THC.

Hash oil is extracted with butane from parts of a marijuana plant, producing a concentrated, more potent form of THC.
