Want to turn heads this holiday season? Get yourself into a 2015 Dodge Challenger. Or if you want to be the most loved person on the planet, perhaps buy that special someone the 2015 Dodge Challenger. However, you want to do it, just consider the uber sexy 2015 Dodge Challenger. It’s a ride you can’t refuse.
Having the Challenger delivered to me at a trendy little restaurant in Dallas’ downtown area several weeks ago, I didn’t see the car until I went outside and handed the valet guy my ticket.
I waited for a moment and wondered why he was giving me that look. When he pointed behind me, I turned around and an entire crowd had formed around my vehicle to admire it. It was one of those cars the valet parked right up front and center so folks would know just how cool the restaurant really was, and by association I was one cool chick too.
I particularly admired the fact that I was able to get inside the 2015 Dodge Challenger to the envious looks of all those standing around.
Getting down to business, the 2015 Dodge Challenger has added more power and better fuel economy for next year’s model and for changes in 2015 expect a few tweaks in the body. Overall, though, it’s still a brawny leader and definitely best in show.
Also new is the SRT Hellcat model with a whopping 707 horsepower engine and that seriously outdoes all the competition in the market including the Chevy Camaro and the Ford Mustang. Even better, I felt totally in control while driving my Challenger and I also felt very admired as I took to the road. In fact, you can hear the Dodge Challenger coming before you see it and then, when folks see it, they just can’t stop looking. Need I say more?
Overall, there are eight trim levels for the 2015 Dodge Challenger with a variety of safety and technology features. The 2015 Challenger I drove was the Challenger Scat Pack that had a black exterior and the interior was black and ruby red with suede Nappa leather high performance seats and the logo.
Standard equipment included an active exhaust, Brembo 4-piston high performance brakes, Bilstein high performance suspension, 180 speedometer, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, tilt and telescoping steering column, dual-zone automatic temperature control, six-way power driver seat and a four-way lumbar adjust with 20” x 9” aluminum wheels with black pocket and all season performance tires. There were also projector headlights and fog lights with daytime running lamps and LED split tail lamps and the Scat Pack Badge including dual rear exhaust with bright tips, a black rear spoiler and a satin chrome grille.
Technological goodies included satellite radio, six premium speakers, a 276-watt amplifier, integrated voice command with Bluetooth and a media hub that includes SD, USB and auxiliary.
Optional on the Scat Pack is a leather interior group with heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel and on the Driver Convenience Package you get blind spot and rear cross path detection or with the Appearance Group add to that the Scat Pack Bumblebee stripe.
Under the hood, my little Scat Pack came with a 6.4 liter V8 SRT Hemi engine with a six-speed manual TREMEC transmission that pumps out 485 horsepower and 475 pound feet of torque
Otherwise, the Challenger comes standard with a 305 horsepower V6 engine and the other optional V8 is a 5.7-liter Hemi with 375 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
Safety equipment includes advance multistage front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags and side curtain front and rear airbags, electronic stability control and all speed traction control with hill assist, rain brake support, ready alert braking and a rear parking assistant system with rear back-up camera and a security key theft deterrent system. On some trim levels safety features also include forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control.
Take note of the warranty package that was offered on the 2015 Dodge Challenger that I drove with a five-year or 100,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, three-year or 36,000 mile Basic Limited Warranty and a five-year or 100,000 mile Roadside Assistance.
For driving, the 2015 Dodge Challenger is a sexy vehicle with stories to tell and as you cruise around town you can take the challenge of owning the road and expect to win every time.
Should You Need to Know: Take note there is no manual transmission offered on the V6 models only the eight-speed automatic, but the V8s come with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed is optional on the V8.
Miles Per Gallon: On the 2015 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack version I drove, it was 14 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highway for a combined fuel economy of 15 miles per gallon.
Cost: The 2015 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack had a price tag with optional equipment of $44,175, the base started at $37,495.
