DETROIT (AP) - Organizers of Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day parade have unveiled a float that pays homage to the city’s golden era of music.

The Parade Company hosted its annual Parade Preview Party on Wednesday. Guests at the private event got a sneak peek of the Motown Museum float, which was commissioned by Art Van Furniture in celebration of the 55th anniversary of both Motown Records and Art Van.

The 60-foot long float features a replica of the Motown Museum with its historic “Hitsville U.S.A.” facade. It also holds a piano that could fit 15 baby grands inside of it.

The theme of this year’s parade is “Walking on Sunshine.” It steps off at 9 a.m. on Nov. 27, at Woodward Avenue and Kirby and ends at Woodward and Congress downtown.
