The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is going back on the air in Kentucky to boost Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in her race against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

The news comes on the heels of the group announcing earlier in the month it was off the air — news that some took as a tacit acknowledgement that the race was becoming out of reach for Ms. Grimes and the Democrats in one of their only pick-up opportunities this cycle.

The party committee is reserving $650,000 in airtime to boost Ms. Grimes after reviewing recent internal and public polling, according to Politico, which first reported the news.

Mr. McConnell holds a 4.4-point lead in RealClearPolitics’ latest average of public polling on the race and is poised to become the next Senate majority leader if he wins re-election and the GOP picks up a net of at least six seats.
