WICKENBURG, Ariz. (AP) - The U.S. Bureau of Land Management says it will take another look at rules for motorized travel in an area north of Wickenburg.

The agency had planned to close Box Canyon to motorized vehicles from March 1 to Nov. 1. But the town of Wickenburg appealed the decision for the area popular among off-road riders.

BLM field manager Rem Hawes says the bureau will work with the town and the public to create a new plan for Box Canyon over the next year.

BLM finalized its travel management plan for more than 100,000 acres of public land around Wickenburg in May. Hawes says the rest of the plan will be implemented soon.
