ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Seasonal ghostly tours of the state Capitol are being offered next month.

The free “Capitol Hauntings” tours start Monday, Oct. 6 and feature ghost stories associated with the Capitol. Guides on the hour-long tours will tell tales about the night watchman who died in the Capitol fire of 1911 and of ghostly sightings of former presidents.

The weekday tours begin at the base of the Senate staircase on the first floor of the Capitol and are offered at 12:30 and 5:30 p.m. through Halloween.

Pre-registration is required at www.ogs.ny.gov or by calling (518) 474-2418.
