AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The founder of Austin-based company My Fit Foods has been arrested for public intoxication and charged with cocaine possession.

According to a Travis County arrest affidavit, Mario Mendias was arrested Monday at the W hotel after police responded to a disturbance call. According to police, they found 39-year-old Mendias pinned to the ground by a security guard. The affidavit says the security guard told officers Mendias had struck him three times on the face with an open palm.

Police say a baggy of cocaine was found on Mendias.

The suspect’s bond has been set at $12,000. It is not immediately clear if he has an attorney.

My Fit Foods has issued a statement saying Mendias only has a minority interest in the company and is not involved in day-to-day operations. They are unable to comment further due to the ongoing investigation.
