ANTONITO, Colo. (AP) - The South Conejos Board of Education has sold an old high school complex to promoters of a hemp processing plant.

Alfonzo Abeyta and Joe Rael bid $500,000 for the high school complex, and Abeyta discussed the prospects for hemp processing.

Another bidder offered $400,000 for the old complex and was submitted by Billy De Herrera and Antonito Community Center LLC.

According to the Alamosa Valley Courier (https://tinyurl.com/pza2bgf ), Abeyta said the hemp processing facility would bring jobs and much-needed revenue to the area. With some of that revenue, he suggested the community could build a community center.
