LAS VEGAS — A great-grandmother had her lawyer plead no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge for a courthouse hallway attack on a man awaiting trial in the March 2014 vehicle death of her son.

Attorney Michael Schwarz entered the plea Thursday for 64-year-old Lindona Thompson, who previously admitted throwing punches Nov. 5 at Gary Richard Adair Jr.

Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa fined Thompson $100 and ordered her to attend impulse control classes and stay out of trouble for 90 days.

The judge set a March 31 date to drop the charges if Thompson complies.

Adair has pleaded not guilty to felony reckless driving and driving under the influence of drugs. He could face decades in prison if he’s convicted.

He’s free on bail pending trial March 28.
