ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The board of directors of the Journal Publishing Co. has appointed William P. Lang as publisher of the Albuquerque Journal.

An Albuquerque native, Lang also serves as president and CEO of the publishing company, which provides advertising, circulation and production services for the newspaper.

Lang also sits on the board of the Albuquerque Community Foundation and was a board member of First National Bank of Santa Fe for several years.

Under his tenure, the 63-year-old Lang says the newspaper will remain committed to the community and will continue to evolve with technology. He says upgrades to the newspaper’s digital products have resulted in more online traffic, with more than 7 million unique visitors last year and 7 million page views in a month.

The Journal is locally owned and operated. It has been in the Lang family since 1926.
